Bang for your Buck
Continuing with the theme of diet, probably the most effective strategy I use to maintain a healthy diet, is to shop smart. My logic is that if I don’t have any terrible food in the house, I won’t eat it! This strategy has worked like a charm.
But, I really do like to eat. So, with that in mind, when I do my shopping, I am for getting the maximum “bang for my buck,” but not in a monetary sense. I shop for around for ingredients I can use that I can eat a LOT of, are healthy, and will make me full and satisfied. Consequently, some of my favorite foods to eat at home are: Homemade Chicken-vegetable soup, egg white omlettes, tofu stir fry, Waldorf Salads, and grilled chicken breast with broccoli.
Notice that everything I eat has an ample portion of veggies and protein, but light on carbs and fat.
