Connections
It’s important to make connections. You just never know when they might come in handy.
Last night, I went out to an upscale bar/restaurant/lounge in La Jolla. When we arrived, there were tons of people and the line to get in was super long. I happened to be with a good friend who was visiting from out of town, and he happened to know a guy he played college football with, who we were meeting up with. Before we arrived, he (Andre is his name warned us, “there’s gonna be a lot of people there, but if you’re with me, we’ll get right in.”
Well when we arrived, I had serious doubts about our ability to get in. My friend called Andre to see where he was. He was on his way, but had to pick someone up. Great. As far as I knew, we were gonna have to get at the end of the massive line and wait with ever other schmuck. But Andre had other ideas….
